Robin’s are steadfast

Making nests where likely
Winter will not scare

A Spring Dream

Energy savings time

All fall dead in a line

Remaining sparse and desolate

Slumbering deep within temperate

Gaining strength, resilience

While confined in silence

Growing larger, spreading wide

Through subzero days, they survived

When birds return to nest

First in sight, their red breast

Sun rises high above

Thawing frozen ground enough

Rise from winters sleep

First sight of color gives a peep

Of brilliance, the best is yet to come
